Petzl Iko Core helmet compatability?
|
I see Petzl's website describes that their Iko Core headlamp is compatible with Petzl helmets. Has anyone tried the Iko Core with non-Petzl helmets? |

Wassup Duderino- Petzl sells adapters for attaching headlamps to other brands of helmets, though I personally haven’t tried it. |

UKC just did a review of this headlamp and talked about helmet compatibility. https://www.ukclimbing.com/gear/camping/lighting/petzl_iko_core_-_gimmick_or_innovation-13149 |

El Duderino wrote: Works fine on my BD Vector. I gently pried the front helmet clips a bit up and out so I could slide the plastic headband into them, and then I pulled the shock cord on the IKO down into the rear clips. Note that because the plastic IKO headband is thicker than a normal elastic strap, you might have the front clips protrude more than you would personally like. Ignore the patches of Velcro tape on my helmet ;) Above: IKO front clip installation Above: Front clip detail, note how it's protruding a bit Above: IKO shock cord installation on rear of helmet; it does seem a bit tighter of a fit back here than my Petzl helmets |
