I couldn't find this information easily online and I don't have enough pads to really test it. How many pads can I carry with the flap of the full pad? I've heard it can carry a simple pad (or other standard size pad) but can I carry a simple pad and a half pad at the same time? Does it get unwieldy with the flap fully extended?

I carry 2 full pads with 1 flap and it works great. I hook an Organic roll top pack on to the straps for a full approach. A little bulky, but carries well.

Is that for a total of 3 pads?

I'm able to get a metolius session pad under the flap, and it works very well. No other pads would be able to fit with the session. So that is a total of two pads on my back.

Depends on the size of the other pads. I can only fit one mad rock pad (4 inches thick, so 8 inches when folded in half) under the flap, and it's a squeeze.

I can carry an Organic half pad and a Madrock pad with my full pad straps.

Thanks for all the input everyone! Looks like it's time to buy another pad and do some solo bouldering.

I asked Josh to buy some extender straps with my full pad. He told me they would be $5 but then sent them for free because the website didn't have an option for it. Cool move on his part. Recently a mouse chewed through my straps, so I made my own. I cut two strips of 1" tubular webbing and hand sewed a bight at one end of each. Right now you can buy a pair of G hooks on aliexpress for $1, and webbing by the foot is cheap. I made mine about 4ft but you can do whatever length you like. I often carry 3 to 4 pads worth of gear with this setup. It's unwieldy and uncomfortable but it works

Something else to consider, regular old ratchet straps. I have some that I use to strap crash pads onto the top of my civic. They could also easily be used to strap pads together, as many as your back can handle.

If you're creative and link the straps 2 full pads with flap, 2 briefcase pads, 1 blubber pad. My bag I either strap on top or wear in front.

Not recommended but it can hold an additional 5” thick big pad, a 4” simple pad, and a blubber pad.

Cam buckle straps with hooks on the ends work well, too. (And they're much lighter than ratchet straps.) We did this on a recent trip because Orgabnic's load flaps were out of stock. Harbor Freight has them for cheap. https://www.harborfreight.com/set-of-two-6-ft-cam-buckle-tie-downs-94012.html

I use a pair of slings and two small nose carabiners to extend the straps and have no trouble carrying two session pads with that setup.
