Sportiva Theory for outdoor climbing?

I've gone through 2 pairs of Solutions and 1 Solution Comps because the strap broke. The Comps only lasted four months and both shoes had holes in the toes. I know they are super soft and the Theory uses the same rubber, but is softer in other areas. Sportiva says they're for indoor comp style stuff but my new pair fits so good that I want to use them on everything.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the Theory for outdoor use.

It is actually against the law to do that.

But yes they work outdoors what's your question?

Mine have been kicking ass outdoors and are quickly becoming one of my favorite shoes of all time.

Lol, Pretty much what I asked - looking for anyone who has actual experience with the Theory outdoors. How have they held up? Do they get shredded faster than expected, etc.

I've been using mine in Hueco four days a week for five months and they are in excellent shape. However, the disclaimer is that I have shoes last me a full year of climbing five days per week and I always wear a hole in the sole of the shoe before the rand. Point being, my assessment of durability might not be accurate for the average person.

Not to hijack this thread but I'm super curious if the theory fit more like the solution or the futurama. Thanks!

i've worn mine outside and they are holding up great (probably ~14 days). they fit more like a futura (for me the big difference b/w solution and futura is that the solution has a bigger heel cup that doesn't fit my foot, the futuras fit perfectly. theory's fit perfectly as well).

Taking mine to the Red next week, I’m revisit this thread afterwards. As far as fit, they fit my duck feet better than any LS shoes. Wider forefoot and narrower heel than a Solution.

It sounds like you're dragging your toes. No shoe is going to help with that. Get better footwork and then start worrying about finding the perfect shoe.

I'm sure I need better footwork, but disagree that I shouldn't find a shoe that works for me now. I haven't had issues with my Instincts, Miuras, or Evolv X1s. So anecdotally still seems like the Solutions have a design flaw.

I use the Theory as my "try hard" shoe for both indoor and outdoor bouldering, and they are great for both. I see absolutely no reason why they wouldn't work outdoors.
