Hey, I accepted a job with the Forest Service in Bishop and my wife and I are looking for a place to rent with our chill cat. We are looking to be here for a while so we don't mind a long lease. Figured I'd see if anyone knew of anything in the greater Bishop area. Thanks!

Renting in Bishop is pretty difficult.  If you don't know people then most of what you find is a mediocre apartment for double what it should go for.  Just have to keep trying and hopefully get lucky.  Get an RV of some kind to start.  It's easier to find a spot once you're out here.  Most anything you would actually want goes by word of mouth.

Yeah- the rentals here are a pia (but not impossible) to get.  My first rental here was a word- of -mouth connection.  The second came through the local paper.  Hopefully something will come up.  I hire summer seasonal employees to work at one of the Visitors Centers.  My immediate suggestion for people who are going to have trouble finding an affordable rental, is to aquire an RV if possible,  and stay in one of the (numerous) RV parks while they look for longer-term housing - should they decide to move here permanently.

Bit far, but I can introduce you to my old landlord in Lone Pine if that's helpful -- dm me if you'd like
