Looking for camping beta at Red Rock
|
We're looking to head out on Tuesday Nov. 3 and stay through Monday, but all the campsites that aren't gravel parking lots for RVs and such at Red Rock Canyon Campground are greyed out and unavailable on the recreation.gov page. Anyone know what the deal is for reserving a tent spot during peak season? Cheers ! |

Sometimes you can get other Climbers to share their site if you just roll through and ask. Good luck getting a res. I'd just get an airBnb near by. |

We camped on BLM land about 25 mins away from the Park entrance. Absolutely gorgeous. It is on the other side of the mountains (away from Vegas). Obviously it isn't a developed campsite but, still very nice. |

Reese Stanley wrote: This person is referring to Lovell Canyon campground. Bit of a drive from the Red Rock entrance (40 minutes or so) but it's in a beautiful setting that is secluded and it's free. Be aware that it's at 5,000 feet versus 2,000 feet for the weather stations in Vegas, so it gets a good bit colder there at night (10 degrees or more). |

Red Rock Canyon Campground is a great campground for a backup. |

Airbnb. Seriously, don't camp in Vegas; it sucks. It is super cheap to rent there and if you do your homework you can end up closer to the rock anyway. |

This question is asked numerous times each year...someone would make a killing and do the community a great service if they were able to find some land nearby and open up a private campground...I'm sure it's insanely difficult though. |

Scooby Doo wrote: haha. The Red Rock campground is the newest and cleanest campground I've ever been too. The view of the untouched landscape was nice. Sun shade, picnic table. I went a couple weeks ago. The camp hosts were really nice and they felt with some bad campers. I would prefer free camping, unimproved and no neighbors, but when I looked and I could only find places 40 min away. Look again here: https://freecampsites.net |
