Radial Head Replacement

Hi y'all,

Fell at the bouldering gym and had surgery for a radial head replacement on 08/24/2020.  I'm five weeks out from surgery on Monday, I've been in PT 2-3x a week, getting medical massage, acupuncture, and doing infrared sauna 1 additional each week.  My numbers are sh*tty.  35 degrees from full extension. 115-125 flexion depending on the day. 40 degrees supination. 65 degrees pronation.  I'm doing lots of low load long duration for my at home PT 4-6 times a day. My PT says I need Dynasplints for extension, flexion, and probably supination. Anyone else experienced this injury? What was your progression in ROM?  How were Dynasplints if you used them?  What were your favorite exercises?

happened on a bike when I was 21. Pt concentrated on being able Close my arm as much as possible after healing I wasn’t able to open it all the way. A year later I had surgery he said to expect 10 degrees increase in motion from maybe 130. He cleaned out scar tissue, had me use a dynasplint + pt I almost have full range of motion 170degrees or so.

Rob, this is just the news I needed this morning. Lacking motion is rough and they keep talking about the 'critical' first 6-8 weeks. I'm glad to hear about a happy ending on a longer timeline.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
