Scarpa Booster (2020) vs other Scarpas

I've got the Instinct VSR and the Chimera, and I love them both. Anyone have some insight on how the booster compares to other scarpa shoes in terms of fit, performance, and intended use?

I have used all of them. I also own the Instinct VSW. It realllllly depends on your climbing level, rock, type, and what you like in a shoe. I'm 6'3" and 160lbs and predominantly bouldering. I could use the VSW for basically everything. I like something a bit stiffer for everything but polished patina or sandstone, but not TC Pro/Katana/Boostic stiff. To be honest I liked the Chimera the least of all Scarpa shoes. It isn't as soft as the Drago and doesn't edge much better, doesn't have as much power as the Furia S, and the laces don't do much to customize the fit. For me the new Booster fits the best of any of the soft shoes, but it can actually edge decently well. It seems to hold the downturn better despite being soft and focuses all the power on the big toe, which is what I loved above the Dragon and Solution. I prefer it over the VSW when trying to power off a shitty smedge or crystal on steeper terrain, in pockets, or specific heel hooks. The heel is much thinner, but has been great on sandstone and schist. Love it on roofs when you don't need a deep toe hook.

I have the boosters, the instinct vsr, and the women’s instinct vs. I needed a half size larger in the boosters than I wear for instincts, but this may not be true for the larger sizes. The boosters are much softer than the instincts overall, like a drago, but they have the standard instinct front toe box, which I love. They have a floppy unstructured heel, though. I’ve only used my boosters outdoors so far and they were amazing at toe hooking and smearing, decent at edging, and surprisingly good at heel hooking, given the floppyness.

I have mostly worn Anasazi and Dragons since 2007. I've finally depleted all of the shoes that I own, and bought a pair of Scarpa Instincts, which I really enjoyed even though I wasn't quite sold on the toe profile. I'm debating getting pair of the new dragons, the Butora Acro, or Scarpa Booster. How does the Booster size compared to the instinct? I wear a size 39 instinct, probably a 39.5 Drago (perhaps a bit too asymmetrical, I didn't climb in them) and a 40 in the vapor. I'm a 8.5 to 9 in street shoes.

I wear the same size in every single Scarpa shoe FWIW (Instinct women Lace, women VS, Booster, Drago LV). They also don't have the same toebox as the Instinct, it's quite different and much narrower.

I have the Boostics and Instinct VS. Tried the Booster but too narrow for my foot and I generally prefer a stiffer shoe. I mean the Boostic is narrow too but I just love it for thin ORG and the like. Instinct I'm a 44, Boostic I wear a 45 and it feels tighter than Instinct, I forget what size I had the Booster in

Kinda late to the party, but I wanted to ask how do the boosters compare to the Drago LV? I'm mostly interested in the heel department and how does the tension system feel under your feet.

I don't use the Booster anymore and use the Drago LV a ton. The Scarpa Instinct S is my current favorite Scarpa

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
