304 stainless or galvanized steel

If you use stainless cable ideally pair it with Cu ferrules vs Al to remove the galvanic corrosion potential.

It has been inferred that a compressed sleeve on galvanized aircraft cable has more grip than one installed on 304 because the galvanized cable has coarser texture.

Steel and stainless steel ferrules are available, but you would need to have a compatible jaw on your press.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
