Hi everyone,

I recently sprained my ankle falling while bouldering, i have been climbing multiple times a week lately and stopping because of An injury sucks.

I was wondering if someone has a recommendation for a climbing shoe for indoor use, for a moderate climber so the toes may be a bit more cramped than my current beginner shoe. But most importantly ankle support, so not protection from scratching as some crack climbing shoes offer but genuine fabric to lace down over the ankle tying everthing together.

I am Willing to sacrifice mobility for safety. I have come across the boreal fire invernal shoes that look like they have great support but they are Geared to cold weather rock climbing so not suited for hot indoor sessions

Why not a brace / orthosis (or whatever these things are called in English) and regular shoes?

I think you would be better off using KT tape or a low profile ankle brace for support. I really like the ones from this company: bauerfeind.com/b2c/Products…

No climbing shoe is designed for anything beyond abrasion resistance. Get a brace

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
