I want to order a pair of 5.10 Anasazi Lace Ups (Pinks) online and was hoping for some advice on sizing. I wear a 10.5 for all my street shoes and am fairly new to climbing. I've ready that some people buy in their street shoe size all the way down to a full size below street size, any thoughts?

I recently bought some pinks (the Anasazi laces). What sort of climbing are you doing? This changes what sort of sizing. Are you climbing crack with them or very edgy climbs? Also how tight do you like them? What other shoes have you had?

I’ve been wearing a used pair of La Sportiva Finales in a 43. They’ve been comfortable, but they feel a little big around the toes. I’m definitely new to outdoor climbing and have been doing easy sport climbs of a variety of styles. The hope is to start following some multipitch.

I wear them street shoe size or half size up with socks. Toes are flat and they’re pretty comfy for multipitch.

I’ve had several pairs of Pinks over the last few years and my street shoe size is perfect for single pitch and a half size up is great for all day or to wear with socks on cold days. Adidas offers free return shipping so you can order a few pairs to try on and return what doesn’t fit.

I typically wear a US10 for most shoes, and start from a basis of 44 Euro, which most suppliers seem to translate as 10.5, for firmly-sized products like mountaineering boots. Pinks are the only shoe I've ever had to return at size 10 and size up to 10.5. They were too tight on my big toe, and I assumed that the synthetic upper was never going to stretch enough. They are loose, or will become loose, in the heel cup, but heel-hooking is not my life so it doesn't bother me. Very much my favorite slab shoe, as they are thin, soft, flexible and can conform to small surface irregularities.

So I was in the same scenario in about 3 minutes weeks ago. I started in finales in size 42.5. If I were you I would go for one size down from mine... US - 10.5 UK-10 FR - 44 2/3 but keep in line that so far mine haven’t worn in enough to stretch a lot. Some say these shoes stretch quite a bit but others say they don’t stretch at all. In my opinion, go for a 43.5 or a 44 in eu sizes or 9.5/10 in US sizes. I would go for the bigger of those two if you are going for crack climbing or something like that and the smaller sizes for slab or something that requires higher edging capabilities.

I did get a pair of 10.5 a while back with the hope they could be an all day shoe, or even just more comfortable, but it didn’t work out for me. Same ratio (13->12) for me. Mine become very comfortable for about 1-2 pitches but the one time I wore them up a multipitch in Squamish my achilles were killing me by the top. Worth it for the extra security on friction slab though...I just could not do it in TC Pros lol. Out of curiosity, why didn’t it work out? Still too aggressive?

Street shoe size for pinks seem to be great for steep stuff in the gunks and smeary long stuff further north.

8.5 in New Balance running shoes, 41.5 in Sportiva mountaineering boots, 25.5 ski boots. My Pinks are a size 9 and are comfortable enough for 2-3 pitches. I have climbed some pretty tough smeary stuff in them, but I would want to go down a half size for small edges. Instead, I have Blancos for that.
