I wear a size and a half down in my La Sportiva Solutions for bouldering, and ever since wearing them, my feet hurt on hard surfaces on the balls of my feet and big toe. Has anyone else had this problem?/does anyone know if it could be Metatarsalgia from wearing shoes too small for bouldering? thanks!

I had pain in the balls of my feet (for months) and it was especially noticeable on slab and hard floors. It didn't come from shoes that were too tight.

It was diagnosed as capsulitis. A couple of things helped clear it up: don't walk around home barefoot; at least wear flip flops for some padding.

And, I started using metatarsal pads on my feet in climbing shoes. Got these from Amazon:

FootMatters Metatarsal Pads Spandex Gel Comfort Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005LD2AFE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XwXlFb41M3YS6

Edit: Looks like metatarsalgia and capsulitis have nearly identical symptoms.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
