Hi campers — I had a 12 foot Trango stick clip was was loaned out and lost. bummer! Anyhow, I saw that they now have a giant 20’ version available as well. Curious if anyone has used the giant version, and can comment on it. It’s only ever going to get packed in my trunk, so no need to worry about it for trips. Thanks!

I have used the new version and it is a big improvement on the original, which I own. The telescoping legs have lever locks instead of twist locks, which work a lot better. The tubing is thicker, too, so it is less wobbly. Get it!
The three different size options are essentially all the same, construction-wise, so it's up to how you'll use it. If you often stick-clip up routes or through cruxes, the Ultra will prove to be pretty unwieldy clipped to your harness. But if all you ever use it for is high first bolts, I'd say might as well go big. I have the Standard and it's a good compromise between height and portability, but we don't have a lot of 25' first bolts in the SE.
I got one specifically for Smith Rock as I read first bolts were pretty high which ended up def being the case and I’m not tryin to ruin my climbing trip cause I ate it before bolt and broke an ankle... I’ve never had one til now and it was pretty awesome for those high first bolts over a boulder field that you kind of look at like crap lol! I’d recommend for sure.
I ended going with the monster stick. For TRS, it gets me one bolt higher, which saves some time. Also works fine for clipping upper bolts, but typically not using it at full extension.
