What kind of deodorant do you use?

I’ve been using Old Spice beach flavored stuff for as long as I can remember, but recently I have been thinking of switching because I don’t like the metallic ingredients.

Does anyone here have a good natural deodorant they recommend?

A clean completely whole food diet, no alcohol or drugs and good hygiene works just fine for me. Also, I trim my armpit hair in the summer. That helps a ton.

None.  Just  stay  clean and eat healthy.  No  alcohol.

There’s no scientific evidence that antiperspirants with aluminum cause any health issues. There’s no evidence microwaves cause problems either but these rumors persist.

For the people who skip deodorants and don’t tell us you don’t stink. You’ve grown accustomed to it.  Ask a friend what they think.

I eat mostly organic Whole Foods because what you put in your body actually does matter. But I’m not afraid to use helpful products that have been used for decades with no real evidence of problems.

I bought some little pump sprayers off amazon and put 70% rubbing alcohol in them, and then I have some diluted vetiver in a roll-on bottle (or a thing of patchouli if I am feeling particularly anti-social).  I'll do that more than once a day if I'm feeling it.

As reported by friends and partners, this setup works better for me than either the aluminum-based thai crystal thing or just using nothing.

I'm also big into changing my shirts/socks/etc a lot... that's had way more of an impact than how I was when I was a dirty, black footed hippy in my early 20s.

I had bad allergic reaction to one the usual deodorants, had to find something different. For me, potassium aluminium sulfate aka potassium alum, crystal type worked OK.

You should be able to find same thing in local Asian supermarkets, probably regular stores as well. Comes as spray as well.

I use this - "Fresh" and "Unscented." A lil more 'natural' than most, but it's still a megabrand.

Best natural option is make your own with corn starch, baking soda, coconut oil and peppermint oil (or your smell of choice). Mix and spread lightly on your pits. Should last a couple days usually.

Same here - I've been using alum for 20 years as I, too, have had allergic reactions to the typical deodorants.

Nonsense. Your pits smell because it's a moist environment that supports bacterial growth.

I dated a girl who used coconut oil as deodorant. I think you mix it with some stuff and it gets more solid. It wasn't as good as regular deodorant, but she never stank..

I’m using some hippy shit my wife bought. It’s got relatively few ingredients. Sorry, it’s 50 feet away and I’m fucking hardcore sitting now so I can’t provide the name. I’ve been off the aluminum-based deodorants for a while, went to the Schmidt’s brand more “natural” deodorant but I developed a wicked rash and had to stop. Underarm rashes ain’t nothing to fuck with.

Right Guard spray. What can I say, I grew up in the 70's and 80's and the stuff works.

I thought that snake eaters don’t use any of that shit.

I like Every Man Jack Sandalwood deodorant which is aluminum free and “naturally derived.” It smells nice even when mixed with sweat. Unfortunately, it’s expensive and doesn’t work nearly as well as regular deodorant. I still use Old Spice Original High Endurance most of the time.

Crystal works great for me and lasts forever, or until I drop it and it shatters. I've heard it doesn't work for some though.
