What masks or buffs are you all using?
|
Getting tired of my real thick cotton mask. The OR one seems pretty legit, anyone use it? Some of the other outdoor gear companies are making masks too (BD), and I'd imagine they are using light materials? If you don't use a mask, are you guys using buffs? If so, what kind? |

I bought synthetic neck gators. Work fine for what I need. |

A lightweight buff works great on the trail since you only need a face covering when near other people it’s easy to pull up when you pass someone on the trail and pull it back down when they have passed. Around town and shopping I’m still sporting the cotton mask. |

I got a set of the Adidas running masks. The synthetic material is cooler and more breathable than cotton but I still didn’t love climbing in it. |

I have the one from OR. Works great! I really like the adjustable fit around the ears, the removable filter and how the nose piece can be adjusted for a tight fit so glasses don't fog up. But I only wear it inside. If I'm outdoors, I have a thin buff I pull up over my face whenever someone else who is not in my "safe circle" is near. |

I’ve honestly found the disposable surgical masks to breathe the best, although I don’t love creating more waste than needed. I use a cotton one for everything else, but climb with the surgical ones |

classic bandana. My Buff seemed too thin. |

+1 for the bandana |

OR Activeice Ubertube. Noticeably cooler than other neck gaiters I've tried |
|
I don't have to go out much so I'll mostly grab whatever is lying around, but I prefer the ease of a regular synthetic buff. |

Climbed for a couple weeks at the gym and got tired of sucking in wet mask through my mouth so I got a Miller LPR100 for myself and my buddy. It made such a huge difference. I still wear my Adidas one for bouldering but for routes Im sticking to LPR100. Breathing now is so much easier even though it is still slightly restricted due to it being a respirator. (Yes, I’ve been fit tested by a physician to wear a respirator and get it done yearly due to my work). |

I'm cheap, so I am using the free double-layer cotton jersey masks that our city has distributed to all residents, and (also-freeish) homemade masks that I sewed from fabric leftovers every quilter has on hand.(tightly woven cotton and silk). |

Static Climbing makes 3-layer masks that tie behind the head and 2-layer masks that go behind the ears. They even have kids sizes. Awesome, responsive customer service too.

I haven't found a cloth mask that I find breathable enough for summer indoor climbing yet. |

I’ve had trouble finding masks that are comfortable and breathable enough to workout/climb in. How are these? What’s the material? I have some very comfortable cotton masks that trap moisture well but consequently become suffocating during strenuous activity. |

I work in a kitchen and wear a mask for up to 11 hours a day, next to hot ovens and moving fast... I wore the OR one for the first time today and I find it works a bit better than a standard surgical mask. I feel like it's worth it to have something that can be reused over a disposal product, so I'm happy with the purchase. I'm not sure what the filter is all about, though... seems like the mask is effective without it but putting it in gives you ~95% efficiency. |

I have four buffs, and a home made mask, so I can wash them regularly. Prefer the buffs |

I have a pair of the OR masks. They fit really well and much better than a surgical mask to breathe through, even with the filter in. You can also wear them without the filter if you need to. Filters are reusable, though OR didn’t say how often you need to replace them (assuming when they get dirty or gross). The ear straps are adjustable which is a life saver. |

I use the OR mask and they have been the best I've tried. I also use an OR ubertube buff and it's great as well. |

Vogmasks for outdoor use such as hiking or climbing around other people (n95 filtration, lab tested). For stuff, like going to Costco, I use a 3m n95 mask because it seals better than the Vogmask does. |

My partner Brian coming up to the locally famous Big Tree, having done Big Tree 1 at Three O'Clock Rock. I dunno what the maker is, but he could easily pull it on and off even over his helmet. |
