Old vs New Hiangles by Five Ten?

I've been wearing the old hiangles for about 2 years now, and love them. They're an aggressive shoe I can wear for hours straight with very minor discomfort. I almost bought a new pair when I saw the reviews critiquing quality control. I mean, they are 50% off (plus free shipping) so I was tempted. Has anyone tried the new hiangles? Can anyone compare the new ones to the old ones? The synthetic material probably won't stretch as much, so if you have information about sizing that'd be great. I'm thinking about the upgrade.

They are much harder to get on if sized correctly, but once on the heel is welded on. The shoe fits a wider foot better because of the more stretchy material. It’s not as stiff.

Thanks Doug! It sounds like the new model more of a bouldering shoe than a sport shoe. Appreciate the input

IMO it’s a huge upgrade.  Split sole is fantastic and the heel is the best fitting I’ve ever worn for my foot at least.  Size a 1/2 size up from what you wore before; they don’t stretch.

Just wondering, are you comparing to the old leather or the old synthetics? I am interested in a new pair, I love my old synthetics and was hoping that these would feel similar.

Not to put words in Ted's mouth, but my post was about the old leather to the new synthetics. Thanks for the input Ted!
