Sportiva TX Guide sizing?

Hoping since these shoes have been out and about for a bit that there is some sizing beta.  I'm wondering how they fit compared to other TX shoes and specifically the TX4's (which I find to be the truest fit of the whole line).  For reference I'm a 38 in TX4, 38.5 in TX2 and 37.5 in TX3's.

The height of the toe box is quite similar to the TX2 and is shorter than all other shoes in the TX line. If you have used the guide tennies the toe box is muck tighter than than that and is much more tapered. The fit is highly dependent on foot shape, speaking from experience of wearing the TX3/4 if those shoes fit you really well then the TX Guides might be a little too narrow. If I were you I would probably get either 38 or 38.5 but probably 38.5 if longer approaches or extended periods of time.

A 42 is a perfect fit for me in the TX3/4. I ordered a 42 of the TX Guide and it was just a tad shorter, but had much less volume. I think even sizing up they would have been to snug and maybe to long. I opted to return them and stick with TX4s. It's a bummer, the guides seem like they'd be my dream shoe

ordered the same size as my tx3's and wish i had gone up a half size.  The guides feel great when I am climbing something kinda hard in them (5th class) but they feel a little tight the rest of the time.

Just got the Guides and they fit more like the TX2 but tighter on the toe box.
I have all of them(TX2/3/4 and the guides) at size 10.

I just switched to the guides from the Ganda (please bring it back) and went with my comfy Ganda size. It feels similar length wise and overall a bit more volume.

Thanks everyone for all the beta.  Sounds like I should go with my Tx2 sizing.

I wear a 44.5 in the Ganda and a 44 in Bushidos. I got both sizes in the Guide. The 44.5 is too big--serious heel-slip, and the 44 is a tad tight, but I am hoping it breaks in a bit. I really need a 44.25. They are great scramblers and have good support for longer approaches. I do agree with Bearded Sam--I have two pairs of Gandas that I will keep resoling until they are dust!!

I havn't tried really any of the shoes mentioned above, but my TX Guides are the same size as my Mix's and my Boulder X's (And my Miuras)

Can anybody compare it to boulder x sizing?

I'm wearing the same size Boulder X and TX Guides, and loving em

(That's Euro sizing, 43.5 for me, I think they might list the US sizes as different)

Sorry to bump an old thread... for hiking miles of scree (and a bit fifth class) should i go up a size or two from my miura's that I wear pretty tight? how do they handle the occasional downpour? Seem like they'd keep you dry to a point?

thanks!

I don't know about Miuras specifically, but, for reference, I wear a 43.5 in the TC Pro, and a 44 in the TX Guide is quite tight. I would probably go for a 44.5 if I got another pair. If you have wider feet, size up another half to full size. I hope that helps.

43.5 TC Pro (all day fit), 44 TX3 and 45 in the TX guide (big approach/descent fit).  I think Sportiva changed their sizing on some newer models. I had to go 45 on Jackals too, when I would historically be a 44 in Sportiva running shoes.

I find the TX4 stretch a TON.

Update: I ended up going with a 44.5--that being said, I have a barely worn pair of 44s I'm selling for $115 shipped.

For miles of scree you should go with a different shoe. After one day of mild scree hiking mine are delaminating and the stitching around the ankle ripped.

I purchased the same size in the TX Guide as my prior TX3's. I tried on two different sizes of the TX Guide, and the same size as my TX3's fit my foot best. However, there is substantially less height in the toe box compared to the TX3. I have a low volume foot, and the low height in the toe box leaves my toes rather pinched to the point it is uncomfortable. I may sell a new pair of TX Guide's and stick to the TX3, which I have been relatively happy with despite the non-durable lacing system.

I got the Guides in my usual walking shoe size as well. Out of the box they were way too narrow for me. I ended up using some cheap boot stretchers like these and that worked like a charm. The shoes are now all day comfy. Ultimately, I still kinda prefer the tx2 for everything, but the guide does climb significantly better (imo) and since I've stretched them they're plenty comfy.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
