Areas not showing up on app but show up on a pc.

I have added 2 new areas in the past couple months and they do not show up when using the app. I have my settings set to auto download updates and have forced updates multiple times by deleting the states (WV, and OH) and redownloading them. Nothing comes up when I search them by area or route name on the app and the only way to get to the areas while using the app is to go to my page and look at my ticks and click on one of the boulder problems from one of these areas. Anyone ever dealt with that? One of the areas I added well over a month ago.

Can you post a link to the areas?

They’re there!  Delete Ohio and download it again

They will show up after a while. This happened to one of the areas I posted. They probably have to update the app every so often and that’s why it’s delayed.

Sorry, tri-valley wildlife wasn't what I meant to send. I meant to send Long Run and this one.

Neither are showing up on the app in the maps area, which is the only way people find areas to climb at unless I tell people to search for the area in the search field, but that doesn't do anyone any good other than my group of friends. Is it possible that it would take a really long time for info to be updated? All of my states say updated as of June 20th even though I've deleted and redownloaded them and have auto updates turned on.

Also, Powerline Boulders is a sub area to Camp 70 road, which doesn't show up on the maps still and was added in 2016...

I see the same thing.  Asking our iOS developer for help in figuring it out.

Any update on this yet Nick? I have multiple other new areas I’ll be adding over the course of the next 6 months or so and would like to know they are actually showing up on the app.

Might be a bouldering area thing, where 'other' is selected for type of climb. Same thing is occurring on Android app, such as Mad Meadows one of the most popular bouldering areas in Icicle Canyon ( mountainproject.com/area/10…) and Mitchell Plateau next door (also bouldering); neither show in the app as of "Data from July 10, 2020". Carnival boulders and Egg boulders (also in Icicle) do not show in app either (yellow access routes show, but areas do not).

Playground Point, just north of Mad Meadows, does show in app and is routes.

We have been looking at the problem - it's kind of ugly on the inside...  and we haven't decided on the best solution yet.  It's fixable though of course, but will probably take a few weeks.

In the mean time, please continue to add areas with the correct location - you can see it works correctly in the vast majority of the time and we'll get this fixed!

Ampfrog, insteresting, I hadn’t even thought about that

Thanks Nick, appreciate the help on this! I’ll add areas as I normally do and hope this gets fixed soon. I don’t mind it taking a bit. Just wanna make sure areas are all showing up!

Nah, it's not that we hate boulders... It's a conflict between the search engine and the main route database in the app.  Both have location data for areas.  The search engine isn't updated as reliably as the route database, but unfortunately the app sometimes prioritizes location data from the search engine over the route database... so it doesn't display correctly.  It's probably going to require an app update to get this fixed correctly.

Update: we're going to put out an app update in the next 7-10 days that will be a temporary fix for areas in the database as of now.  Then we're going to work on a real fix that should solve the problem indefinitely.  We expect that to be out in 2-3 months.

Hi Nick, this still has not started showing up on the app yet. Should I be concerned that the area has been on MP for 4 years now and isn't showing up? Really would hate to have to go through all the work of adding all of this stuff again.

I'm about ready to add a bunch more lines to the area and wondering if it's possible the are Camp 70 Bouldering is just broken? Would hate to add 50+ new ones only to find out nobody will ever see them.

Well our first attempted fix didn't work, but our app developer can easily reproduce it and will put out a fix ASAP, probably about 2 weeks.

Thanks for your patience!

Can you install the latest version (4.4.1)?  It should be in there now.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
