Hi everyone. I live in Montana and will have lots of time off this coming winter. I've been researching good Winter Mountaineering Routes in the Wasatch to do this winter both technical and non technical. If some of you wouldn't mind sharing id'e like to hear your suggestions on good ice/alpine/mountaineering routes in the Wasatch that are in terms of safety and accessibility good routes to climb between the months of November and March.

Cheers

If you can catch these routes before they are totally socked in and the road is closed they are great:

Also less well known is this area in Ogden although you do end up doing a fair amount of scratching on dry rock usually:

north ridge of the pfiefferhorn
south ridge of superior
salt lake twin peaks all aspects (starting up broads fork is the easiest) but up furguson is more adventurous
everest ridge on timpanoogos
Lone peak (long day version is going up Bells canyon and over bighorn)
any of the south facing couloirs for spring snow travel is fun: tanners, maybird, little pine etc

Almost any of the summits in the big or little cottonwood canyons make for great outings with many options depending on the style and difficulty that you are looking for

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
