Looking for offset nuts. Was set on the DMM's but I just saw that BD is making something similar now. Added benefit of the BD is that I'm familiar with the color scheme already which makes it easy to find the next bigger or smaller nut if one doesn't quite fit.
Bd looks to to have a bit less offset. I'm looking for something that fits where other stuff won't since I'd rather place a cam if possible and already have standard nuts. Any preference in bd vs dmm?
Saw another thread from 2019 but seemed to talk about brand preference more than which one is different enough to work with other gear doesn't.
The DMM offsets seems to fit your description the best. They have more drastic angles than the BD offsets. The BD offsets are closer to regular nuts than DMM's.
Get whichever you can get the better deal for. I have the DMM's and they seem like the were made to fit perfectly here in Red Rock, but the BD ones will work just fine as well. Partner of mine just got the BD offsets and just looking at them they are a little boxier but they will work just fine for anything the DMM'S work for. Considering how popular the DMM offsets are, I don't think BD would change the design substantially in making their own version to the point that they won't fit most of the same spots that DMM's would.
I've used both, they're very similar. The groove on the BD seems a bit more useful to me, I've been able to set it on small crystals in ways that the DMM never could. Getting confused over the colors of DMM is also a thing, although you get used to them eventually.
