I have serious pain in the back of my wrist when I get into push-up position it doesn't hurt when I pull or necessarily even climb but if I put any weight on it and bend it backwards it really hurts. I haven't been able to do a push-up for months now. Any ideas?
Same thing happens to me pretty often, and it seems to be linked to muscle tightness around my elbows. Try massaging out your forearm muscles and see if it helps!
I've seen it fairly frequently and it can be due to a carpal bone mis-alignment for lack of a better word. Usually resolve pretty quickly if the carpal bone can be mobilized and normal arthro-kinematics restored. (I've been an outpatient orthopedic Physical Therapist for 31 years, for reference. Have you been climbing cracks or otherwise twisting your hand/wrist in that type of manner? Think thumb-down hand jam and really cranking on it. Doing that can cause some strain that usually goes away with the usual RICE / vitamin I protocol. Good luck
Thanks a lot for the help guys. This at least gives me some ideas to work towards. By the way yes I do usually crack climb and I started feeling it a lot after fist jams's but never during jams. Another person told me it could be from tfcc sprain. But this has been going on for a couple months so I know it's something I need to have looked at.
