Cimbing equipment rentals in SLC

I've got some friends that want to try climbing, and I can't find anywhere currently renting climbing gear.  I've tried REI in millcreek and The U Campus Rec Rentals.  Neither of these places are currently renting climbing gear.  Anyone no other places that rent climbing gear?  I'm mostly just looking for shoes to rent.

Due to liability concerns it's understandable that most places wouldn't want to rent trad gear or even quickdraws, but it seems like you should be able to find someplace to rent shoes and harnesses.  I'm surprised U of U Campus Rec wasn't able to do so.  You might want to try the two local climbing gyms, Momentum and the Front.  I would think one or the other would be able to rent out shoes and harness for a weekend.

Normally, REI does rent shoes. I do not know their current status (or even if they're open).
No one in the country rents any kind of gear due to liability concerns, so you may have a harness issue as well.

Hey Thumer, I have some shoes in the 9.5 - 10.5 range that you could borrow.
Let me know.

As far as I understand the U does rent shoes, helmets, and crash pads... but whether they are currently doing so due to Covid-19 is a different question.

But yes, no where really rents ropes, draws, or biners due to liability...

Try The Gear Room. It might be a bit far, but they have some great prices for new and gently used gear (including shoes, cams, hexes, quickdraws, etc).

Midvale is far from SLC?

In any case, yes, try the Gear Room
There’s also the consignment closet at IME.

Thanks guys.  I checked REI, the U, Momentum, and Front.   No one is renting because of the Pandemic.  I'm going to check Gear Room and IME for some cheap consignment shoes.  Looking for size 11-12 street shoe, if anyone has any old ones they'd like to sell.
