This is very sad news.
Mike and I butted heads more than once. We also had some of the best days climbing together at the Needles and some other Kern Canyon cliffs.
Mike had the vision to get route development started at the Rincon. He, along with, in no particular order, Rob Brown, Craig Morris, and Gene Mayo, got the ball rolling up there. Later on I got invited to join their group, but it would have never occurred to me to climb up there were it not for Flood and his crew.
Guy said it better than I can:
"He could use your prayers, energy and support Mike is one tough person He is facing the hardest crux ever "
I'm wishing Mike Flood the best possible outcome.
This may not be necessary, but a note to the moderators. I know there's a separate forum topic for this sort of thing, but please leave this on the socal forum. Mike is well known among the Stoney Point crowd, as well as SoCal in general, and as many of us who know him should see this and send their strongest positive vibes.

There is also a GoFundMe setup in his name to help with medical bills. I do not know him personally but hope he makes a full recovery so we can hopefully cross paths at Stoney sometime in the future.

Thank you for the concern, the love and the support for Mike from the climbing community. I am grateful. Mike is still in ICU and is still in very critical condition. The outpouring of prayers and healing thoughts has been amazing and I believe they’re working. I have to believe they’re working? Thank you all!
Please spread the word on all the social media you use, tell friends and family, share on all climbing sites that allow forums, all of it! Mikes in trouble and is all alone in the hospital with no visitors because of COVID-19. Talk to him in your thoughts. Imagine a healing light surrounding him. Pray. Whatever your beliefs are, please think about Mike and the good memories you have of him.
And please support Mike in his recovery. Share the crap out of his GoFundMe link!!! Thank you!!

News from last Thursday (7/2) Mike is stable. The bleeding has stopped in his chest, he is on dialysis. He is still in a induced coma. His many broken bones are healing. He must come out of the coma so the Docs can evaluate if he is paralyzed Not exactly good news. But not the worst. Mike has always been a fighter, strong with heart and determination. Stay positive.

Mike update
Mike is more stable, still unconscious. I wish I had more, better information to give everyone.
Still in intensive care
But hanging in.
I know Mike he is very good at “holding on”
Come back to us, Brother, you still have some leads to do.

The two things that heal best are prayer and the outdoors. I'll be praying... Hope he feels better and gets outside soon.

Great News..... Mike is much much better!!!!! Some of my friends have spoken to him via Facebook Messenger- something I don’t have. He is going home soon. Looks forward to having a BBQ and seeing people at his desert compound. Thoughts on a fundraiser like we have done in the past. Prayers do work.
