Resoling shoes (based in seattle)

Hi! Not sure if this is the place - |

Their work is consistently fine. Email Dave with any special issues or send him photos. Send in your shoes for resoling before you are climbing on the rand, and the fix will be cheaper and quicker. |

I've had mediocre results in terms of quality from Dave Page- rand caps ruined the toebox on one pair. I've gotten decent results on resoles without randcaps though. May depend on which of his employees does the job. I have found him to be a bit rude in some interactions, enough so that I plan not to go there anymore. |

Gear Fix in Bend Oregon. |

Rock and Resole in Colorado is excellent. We have resoled a dozen pairs or more, some multiple times. (Yes, we climb a lot.) |

i would definitely not recommend dave page. he/they resoled several pairs of shoes for me and they were awful. i returned a couple pairs for a re-do before even wearing them, and they came back as bad or worse. super frustrating. |

Timothy L wrote: Gear Fix in Bend Oregon. -1 I only used them once on two pairs of shoes, and I won't be going back. They botched both pairs. With quite a few readily available, consistently high quality results with similar if not better turnaround times I don't see the point. |

If you’re in Seattle, it may be cheaper to hold out for the REI flagship garage sale. No guarantee you’ll find your shoe but the deals are great in general. |

There are good resolers pretty much everywhere now. Keep it local. |

I have used dave page for 10 years. I dropped off a pair two last friday and got them back monday. |

Timothy L wrote: Seattle is like 350 miles from Bend. I guess a trip to Smith isn't out of the question for a Seattleite but Bend is still another 45 minutes further from Smith and it would still require the shoes getting shipped back at least. If I were going to go through any of those hassles I would just send the shoes to a resoler that has much more consistent results. |

If you run La Sportiva, I HIGHLY recommend these guys: |

I hear CHAZ does resoles |
|
Just saw that there's a new resoler in the area (lives in Yakima, but travels to Seattle): Matt@verticalresole.com There's a positive review for them on the Seattle Rock Climbers fb page, along with a carefully worded knock on "a certain place in Fremont" Not my pic but |
|
Rock & Resole, resoled this shoes second time, pretty satisfied. Turnaround time was about 5 weeks. Want to try Vertical Resole next time. Dave Page never again. |
|
After a few mixed experiences with some other resolers I just send mine to Rock and Resole. I've never been disappointed. |

Had a pair I just got resoled with Dave Page in Freemont. He doesn’t do them himself anymore, has a guy who comes in and does them on the weekends. The only complaint I have is that there’s a little divot in the middle of the new half sole. Looks like the rubber kind of caved back in on itself there. Also makes the shoe fit slightly tighter on that area of the foot. Not ideal, but the shoes climb fine. Saw mixed reviews but it was really cheap, $35 plus tax, no shipping, dropped it off Friday and picked up Monday. Not sure I’d totally recommend but for what I was looking saving ~50% vs shipping it somewhere was worthwhile |
