Vantage - camping
|
Anyone know if the Vantage camping area is open? I think it's technically wildlife area which I assume is state, but not sure. Anyone been out there recently for day trip? Are we allowed to camp out there? I think it's still considered 'dispersed' camping ... thoughts? |

Its not open. |

Ah, Vantage during Coronavirus. I swoon thinking of overflowing toilets, rabid dogs, and the wild-west debauchery of a parking lot in the desert. Go for it, I'm sure there will be hundreds of people there this weekend to hang with! |

Well, technically the park is open for day use - just curious about the dispersed camping. I'm def not going there this weekend but curious about possibly going in the next couple. |

You're not supposed to, until they announce it's open. Look into dispersed camping on BLM land and such. |

I don't think the actual campgrounds are open but there's always people camping on the North side of the road. I've been told it's private land and that nobody cares. Not sure if that's true or not but I do know people have been camping there for the past few weeks. |

No camping signs are posted and the 2 bathrooms are closed and locked. I have seen folks camping both days I've been there in the last 2 weeks; seems like a risk of getting land managers to close F & W lands if they can't monitor rule-breakers. |

The first campground on the right is private land. It's not owned by Washington. I think the only people that can stop anyone from camping there are the people that own it. |

Camping is easy. Pooping and peeing is another thing. The average person doesn’t practice proper LNT. |

Every time we were at Vantage recently (on weekends) the bathrooms were unlocked. Noone I talked to ever mentioned them being locked... not sure when, if ever, they are locked. |
