In the age of Instagram influencers and youtubers promoting "vanlife" as a bougie romantic ideal, there is still one adventure van that stays true to the spirit of adventure. The Minivan.

The minivan is the perfect mix of space and mobility. You get a comfortable ride, great gas milage, and more sex appeal than Matthew McConaughey in suit. Do you know how many women Ive had in this van? None. But Im not that good looking, so maybe you'll have better luck.

All jokes aside

I built this fully removable bed/storage setup for my 2006 Toyota Sienna and lived in it for a couple years. It is designed to fit that year, but will also fit any years that have the same body. It slides in with no modifications required and is contoured to perfectly fit the abnormalities of the floor. It had two  drawers that slide out the side doors, and one massive gear drawer in the back. It comes pre-stickered, and even has a bottle opener built in.

Im hoping someone out there has the same van and might be able to put this to use.

Monday-Friday, you can cruise in full soccer mom style, with 7 seats to shuttle as many kids as necessary. But when the weekend arrives, you can remove those seats, slide in your instant "surf bum kit," and head to Mexico.

It cost me about $600 in materials when I built it. I would love to get some of that money back, but mainly just want to see it used. If you can afford to throw me some cash Id be psyched. If you have some climbing gear to trade Ill be psyched. If you are properly destitute and can only swing a case or two of beer Ill be less psyched. Until I drink the beer. Then Ill be psyched.

Im also selling the van for 6 Grand. If you buy the van Ill throw the bed in for free.

This is a 2006 Toyota Sienna XLE All Wheel Drive van.

It has 141,xxx miles, and has no engine problems.

It does have some scars though.

One of the hub-cabs is cracked.

It has a couple scrapes on the bumpers from a miscalculated U-turn by a retaining wall.

Also the paint of the hood is faded.

The driver side window works but is loose. The glass seems to be out of the track.

Oh and theres a small chip in the windshield.

This car was purchased brand new by my grandpa, and then made its way down to me. I have loads of maintenance records and receipts. All maintenance was always done on time.

The check engine light comes on periodically, but I reset the light to pass smog so it is currently off. The code that pops up is P0430. It has something to do with emissions, but Im not sure what.

Passed smog and registered through July.

Its got leather heated seats. Automatic doors. A tow hitch and wiring. Cruise control. Powerful AC. Kickass sound system. Aux port. Retractable window shades.

Its got a full set of carpet floor mats as well as a set of rubber mats.

This isn't the car you dream of, but it is the car you need. Own it. Embrace it. Drive a minivan.

Im located in SoCal about an hour North of LA in Thousand Oaks

How tall are you and how's the feel of sleeping inside coffin-wise?

Im 6 ft tall and the bed is 7ft long x 4ft wide so it's nice and roomy. As for coffinwise... I don't sleep in the drawer if that was your question haha

Haha, I mean how much headspace do you get when laying inside? I'm guessing you're using a few inches of foam to sleep on.

Ahh gotcha haha. Yea I sleep on a 4 inch mattress, and while Ive never measured that leaves me with plenty of room to lie on my side or back with my knees up. Hope that helps

p0430 - bank 2 catalyst below threshold. needs a catalytic converter.

The big drawers are nice, I wanted to do something like that in my platform for my element. So much better and more useful than trying to use totes.
