Storing quickdraws clipped together?

So I've noticed that most people store their draws on a sling, but I'm cheap and don't own any, and I only have 12 draws (2 sets of 6). What I've been doing is storing five of each set clipped to one of the biners on the sixth. Is there any reason that I shouldn't be doing this? Like will it damage the draws?

As long as the gates are opposite and opposed.

Yesterday, I dropped all my Totems while racking. I am giving them away because microfractures give me the heebie jeebies.

As long as all the draws are the same brand, it's perfectly fine. It's when you start mixing brands that the intercarabiner chemistry occurs. Look it up.

If you leave them alone in a closet clipped together, you’re going to get a bunch of these running around.

That's exactly what I do, too, Maia. It just made sense to do it that way.

If you have to ask this I should say always use one end of a QD on the bolt hanger and one end for the rope. The hanger biners get little nicks on them.

Trip your partners out and rack one set with 7 and the other with 5.

Tooooo cheap to for a sling? How much is a nylon runner? That’s to funny.

First rope you end up retiring cut some sections off it. Rip the core out, give it a good washing to clean up. Then tie some small loops to rack your gear on. Much butter then clipping to a sling or themselves. If you trad climb makes it easy at the end of the day or a trip to make sure you have all your gear.

I just got some very cheap static 8mm rope from a hardware store, cut into 3ft lengths and closed the loops with flat overhands. I use these loops, attached to hooks on the wall, to store all my climbing hardware: one loop for quickdraws, one for "essentials", one for cams and so on.
I prefer the cheap rope to slings for storing because then I can have all my slings stored somewhere else and I don't have to undo a hardware bundle in case I needed that sling it was stored on.

You're gonna die, but probably not from this.

Don't mix metals and you'll be fine.

But what does one do if they're vegan?

Just don’t clip the side that you clip your rope through to metal.

You're not seriously asking this, are you?
