Anybody take Celebrex daily?
|
Have you noticed any side effects? I’ve been taking it daily for almost a year with other NSAIDS for about a year before that and I’m trying to narrow down a few issues. Interested in others experiences and knowledge. Thanks a bunch. |

Nsaids should not be taken daily for extended periods of time. There are tremendous side effects. Please consider alternatives |

I took Celebrex (100 mg) daily for 4 years until I couldn't take the pain anymore and I had my ankle fused. When I stopped the celebrex two weeks before the ankle surgery I couldn't even walk.... |

Who told you be taking it daily? That can be irresponsible and dangerous. Extended periods of use can cause multiple serious side effects. From hearing loss to kidney injury, there are a lot of side effects. |

Please consider alternatives Celebrex is a Cox-2 inhibitor which is much easier on your GI than other NSAIDS. The biggest long term risk is increased heart disease/attack so you need to add in other possible contributing factors to heart issues in making your decision for long term use. |

I think the up-shot here is... |

I'm prescribed Celebrex by my rheumatologist for a genetic inflammatory disease and honestly, it's been working wonders. If I don't skip a pill, pain stays around a 1 which is waaay better than the 7 it would get to previously. The pain stems from my spine so it was pretty debilitating. This is not a physical injury so unfortunately I'll be taking Celebrex until the side effects outweigh the would be pain. The next step would be an immunosuppressant with some very obvious side effects. |

Side question. I keep hearing things about the carnivore diet for autoimmune disease. Supposedly there is a study from Harvard. Ever tried it? |

I've been using it daily for a few years and haven't noticed any problems. |

An update: I quit the Celebrex a while back and moved up to biologics injections and the skin improved within a few weeks. I've since gone back to raw-doggin' Vedauwoo and the hands are holding up nicely which is great since it's my only superpower as a climber. |

I took one pill once and gained 15lbs of water which I pissed out the next morning. Doc said never take it again, my kidneys are sensitive to it. I have no problem with ibuprofen which I use on occasion. |
