Disappointing it only works with the Cassin picks...

I have it and their use is dubious because of the curve of the shaft and the shape of the handle it’s very hard to bang the hammer piece with any force or consistency.

I like the weight the older "ice" pick hammer provided to the head of the tool. the older style ice pick had a hammer incorporated into it. is nice for cold hard ice. also cheaper than the head weights they sold separately. I am planning on purchasing the new ice pick and the modular hammers if for nothing more than head weight, and the possibility of needing to reset or remove a piton or remove a snarg or warthog. better than nothing. agreed the curve of the shaft makes a hammer on there not useful to place pro on lead, but removing while seconding, they work fine. my partner and i carry one piton hammer in the alpine. the leader carries it and some pitons if the pitch calls for it. The second uses tools to try and remove the piece.
