I got a bad rope burn in my hands 6 days ago. 3rd degree burn in the left middle finger in the joint in between the middle and proximal phalanges. I had an appointment with the plastic surgeon who advised a skin graft in that spot, which will cost in between $6000 to $8000. I wonder if there are climbers out there that had this kind of injury and let it heal on its own. If so, how did you manage the wound and scar tissue to minimize compromised the finger mobility? Does the finger end up being kind of bent a little bit? Thank you!

Maybe get a second opinion?

Though, all MP users are doctors...
