How long do you wait to climb or train after eating? At least 2 hours? Or does it depend on what you eat?

I’m often shoving food in my face between pitches...

Maybe it's just dependant on what you're eating?

For a big heavy meal, sure, you probably want to give it an hour or two, and have it digested, before climbing.
But small meal or snack doesn’t really weigh you down. Ultimately, only you can tell.
I go to the gym straight from work on weeknights, and try to eat something before I head out to the gym, so I have enough energy to climb. It ends up being about 45 min between eating and a start of a warmup. Something like a banana and yogurt seems to be about right for me.
If I have anything big/heavy I feel it sloshing in my stomach as I do jumping jacks and inchworms as pre-climbing warmups.

I consider eating training in itself

Doesn't matter that much unless it is long duration stamina training. If you are going to run for 3 hours or hike for a day, things like that you probably want to focus on nutrition and its timing. Going to the weight room or bouldering gym. You can probably eat and be fine. I like to train before I eat. Motivation to get my workout done.

When I do cardio I like to do it on a light snack rather than a meal. I just feel better and do better. Afterward I am soon ready for a meal, usually by the time I've showered.
What matters more is being hydrated before I start cardio. If I'm not, it is harder even if I am drinking during it.
Of course, like many people I was told not to go in the water after eating, so I have still not actually been in the water. :^)

Last weekend, while out bouldering, I was still chewing a mouthful of jerky while pulling off the ground.
In high stress situations your body will stop the process of digestion in order to focus energy on the more immediately important things. So basically you could eat a burrito, finish swallowing, and immediately pull onto your project and give it a hero effort. The added 1 lb probably won't make much of a difference.
Considering most dietary advice for athletes is to eat multiple small snacks/meals during the day to keep up energy levels, you won't get very much climbing in if you wait two hours after each meal.

I’ve never thought about it.. I just eat whenever, I guess if I ate too much it would be uncomfortable to climb. I also don’t climb hard at all, so maybe it matters more if you’re actually pushing yourself? My brother was telling me he gets really sick to his stomach if he eats most things before he climbs, so he had to find specific meals he could eat after work before he went to the gym. He said Pho is the best one that doesn’t seem to cause him any pain when he’s climbing.

If you ate at Ole Ole Burrito Express you should give it at least an hour before hitting up GWPC.
