I'll be in Boulder for a few days for work this week. What gym do you guys recommend for just bouldering?

The Spot will have the most terrain.
They tend to set big moves, more shouldery than fingery. Slightly more comp style.

The BRC problems are more old school, more like outdoors. Not as crowded. They have half a dozen auto belays if you want to get on a couple of routes.
Haven’t been to Movement in a while (how many gym memberships can one person afford?) Also good, maybe the same size as BRC, maybe a little smaller. They used to set a lot of sloper problems, not sure about now.
There are a bunch of new gyms outside Boulder you might consider too.
Spot Denver is great, as is Movement Rino.

Thanks for the info. Do most climbing gyms have a good selection of shoes on sale/to try on? Was hoping to try on a bunch and maybe get a pair while I'm out there.

No idea about gyms and rental shoes.
I'd guess that all they have are low end beginner shoes.

On the other hand, the biggest selection of shoes I've ever seen is at Rock and Resole in Boulder.
They are really good about letting you try on as many as you like, but it's a shop, so you don't really get to try climbing in them.

Cats is a 5 dollar spary wall that is awesome if you are willing to be a little creative.

If you want to try shoes on and boulder try Longmont Climbing Collective. Similar setting to Spot, volumes, big moves. Best setting, BRC.

Forgot about CATS.
It is a good wall, has the reputation as the place where the elite boulderers hang out.
Aren't the day time hours kind of limited?
I don't know if they have rental shoes.

The Spot: If you want to have fun and climb a million boulders.
Cats/Movement: If you're training hard and don't mind limited bouldering options.
BRC: If you want to be around really nice people and use autobelays.

As far as shoes go, most gyms rent out the most simple La Sportiva shoes i believe. If you need shoes, hit up Rock N Resole or Neptune. If you are really looking for something on the cheap, you can check out Boulder Sports Recycler, but it's a gamble whether or not they'll have something for you.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
