"Skier's thumb" (UCL rupture): rehab and recovery after surgery

Hi all,

I'm two weeks out from surgery for a complete rupture of the UCL in my thumb. I had a plaster splint for two weeks that was changed out for a removable plastic splint today, and my doctor is calling for another four weeks of complete immobilization of my thumb (6 weeks total post-op; 8 weeks total post injury). For folks that have gone through this process, how long did you wait to start hang boarding / top roping? What was the recovery like after you were allowed to range your thumb again?

Thanks so much!
Avi
