Split size shoes: Do you ideally wear size 42.5 (US 9.5) left foot and size 42 (US 9) right climbing shoes? I'm the opposite. Want to be my split-size TC Pro / Miura Lace climbing shoe partner?

I know there have been a number of posts on the subject over the years, but I thought I'd take a stab in the dark.  Anyone??

A couple years ago, I purchased two pairs of TC Pros (42 and 42.5) and the set I wear (42.5R/42L) is currently getting resoled for the 3rd time.  I'd like to avoid having to buy two pairs again.
I've done the same with Miura Lace and they've been around a while too.

I've learned that Butora ($25) offer split sizing for an extra cost. Evolv used to.  I might try the Butora Altura to replace my TC Pros if I can't find someone to swap with.

Thanks!

Have you experimented with shimming something behind the heel of your shorter foot? That's allowed me to get great performance with shoes thare legitimately a full size too big. Only limitation would be heel hooking, but I do that maybe once a year. You want something firm but flexible. I'm currently using folded-over tngues that I ripped out of a pair of old rock shoes. I also have rubber "heel cups" but haven't tried them. LMK if this might work for you; if I don't need the rubber cups I could give them to you.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
