New Black Diamond Miniwire Vs CAMP Nano 22

Just started looking at the new carabiners for 2020 and the new miniwire from BD looks like a full knock off of the Nano 22 in the pictures. Other than being one gram heavier, has anybody gotten the two in hand to see if there's really any difference? The BD is a dollar cheaper, so if they're basically identical, I'll probably rack up some of the new miniwires.

Haven't held the BD miniwire.
But have several Metolious fs mini's.
They are a bit smaller than Camps 22's.

Fs minis are terrible

Ditto on that. They're smaller and weigh MORE than nano 22's..... Just interested in the new BD miniwire as a possible supplement to my nano 22's for racking biners if they are actually as close looking as they seem online.

The shape between the two definitely feels different in hand. I still have a slight preference for the shape and feel of the nano 22, but probably not enough to justify the extra dollar per carabiner if I was buying an entire racks worth.

Sweet, thanks for that. Same overall size though? I know they have the same gate clearance.

My anecdotal experience is that the gate opening feels noticeably smaller on the miniwire. My thumb felt like it was snagging more passing through the gate on the miniwire as compared to the nano. A little bit better than the FS mini, but not as smooth as the nano. The miniwire feels well made, but I will not be replacing the nanos for these due to the smaller feeling gate opening.

I can echo those statements about the feel of the smaller gate opening, I have sausage fingers and wasn't sure if it was just me.

Overall the miniwire isnt bad, and still better than the FS mini, just not super great. The extra colours are nice for extra organization, I'm planning on picking up a few more of those. Otherwise I prefer the nano 22.

Roughly? Maybe a little wider.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
