Looking to do Washington in a couple months. The wife and kids want to come camp while I do the hike. Is there any good campgrounds that feed into the Jewell trail?

Thanks.

Barnes Field is on the other side, if you switch to Lions Head or do an ice route. You can also stay in the Harvard Cabin near the base of Huntington Ravine, or at the Hermit Lake shelters. There's not a whole lot on the west side that I'm aware of.

Dolly Copp Campground on Rte 16 is a good option for the east side.  For the west side your best bet is sugarloaf 1 and 2 on the Zealand road.

When exactly is "a couple of months"?  Typically until t least the end of April there will be significant snow/ice around. Are you talking about car camping or some form of walk-in/backpack.  Your first to responses are on opposite ends of that spectrum.

While there are some National forest campgrounds in the white mtns. open all year the majority of them are closed untill mid May

I'm assuming they were talking summer season?  But if not, I believe you can camp at either of these locations year round, just might require walking in on snowshoes a bit ;).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
