Hello every one, I will probably visit your country for the third time during Spring. I'm psyched on climbing trad free routes and also aid ones. Looking for people to share the experience. As i'm in doubt about finding partners directly in the Valley i post this but also will be prepared for soloing one or two C1/C2 . I'm interested on every 5.9/5.10 classics trad in the Valley ( steck Salathé , sons or Yesterday, ...) but i would really like to improve a lot my aid experience. Being a third on a team, being a second, sharing or leading the pitches, from west to east on el Cap : everything not above C2/C3 ( Lurking, Zodiac, Salathé...).
The best for 2020 !

Hi Oliver, I'm not exactly sure what my schedule will look like around April/ may but there is a pretty good chance I'll be in the valley at least a bit of it. I don't have much aid experience (mainly A0 or C1 type stuff) but I am looking to try to do some of that as well. I do have a lot more free climbing experience though and would be happy to repeat or tick off some more classics. -Lukas

Hi Olivier,
You’ll have no problem finding partners in the valley once you arrive. Leave a note at the camp 4 message board and you’ll find many people doing exactly what you are. I recommend booking a site at the lower or upper pines in advance (not sure when they start taking reservations but look on the national park website). You can also reserve a spot in camp 4 where all the climbers stay (you’ll have to look on the site for specifics).
Shoot me an email closer to your arrival and if I’m going up the weekend you arrive (likely), I’ll give you a ride. tlappetito at g mail
Good luck!
Tyler

Hey Olivier,
I live nearby and could probably head out for a weekend if you don't find anyone. I'll even buy a totem off ya :). Message me closer to the date.

Hello ! Tyler : i believe camp 4 is ok for the message board but a nightmare for finding room...maximum 7days also... That's why I plan to exist the parc every evening ( except if climbing) by car and find free camp site outside. ( We've done that in 2012, it was ok). But I will study your advice, I can still cancel my car rental.
Connor : I've few totem. You mean they are not common in the states ?!

Book sites in the valley within the legal time/duration limits. Once you exceed the time/duration limit, then do the daily drive.

Just like having stories attached to my gear and it would be cool to meetup and buy one from you in person. Let me know when you get in if you need a partner.
