Snow/ Skiing Conditions Mt Baldy / San Jacinto ( Snow Creek)

Anyone have any intel? Looking for snow conditions. |

Based on some of the discussion in here there is a pretty good ice layer under the snow up in the San Jacinto area. It doesn't talk about snow creek but id assume the same which would make skiing snow creek a bit spicier than normal. Check out the California mountaineering group on Facebook. A bunch of people have been up Baldy. Based on what im seeing the snow doesn't look that great but its skiable. It does look like there have been some big slides or rockfalls that have ripped down to dirt so as always, listen to what the mountain is telling you when out there. |

skied the baldy bowl a week ago (1/1), melt-freeze conditions and pretty good coverage. lots of wind and natural avalanche activity during the last big storm cycle (12/27) made the conditions more variable than ideal and stripped some of the coverage to the ground, but its certainly skiable. |

Not eyes on, but a thread on a ski forum: |

Has anyone been up to baldy or san g in the past few days? Hows the skiing? |

Unfortunately, Baldy is definitely not skiiable after the last couple weeks of warm/dry weather... just a few patches of crud snow left really :( I haven't been up san g in a few weeks but I would assume the same. Everyone do the snow dance!! |

Hiked up to Falls Creek two weeks ago for a peek. Snow Creek has intermittent snow and rock patches with some verglas and water ice. A climber retreated from above the Chockstone the following week. |

coverage is holding strong on the north face of san gorgonio with skiable snow from the summit plateau to 8100' |

Baldy bowl completely bare as of today. Snow on trail from Ski hut up to ridge. Definitely not skiable. |
