Best all around budget friendly climbing pants
|
Hey all, Christmas gift cards are in and I'm fishing for suggestions on some solid fair weather climbing pants that are comfortable and can stand some abuse. Alternatively, if you have said pair in size (30-32)x(30-32) for a fair deal I'm an interested party. Thanks! |

Wrangler Flex Outdoor or something like that. Cheap, comfortable, durable |

Go to your local paint store and pick up a pair of white painter's pants. Incredibly cheap with moderate durability. They are usually 100% cotton so may shrink a bit the first time you wash them so buy them a bit larger than normal. Another budget option is to go to your local Goodwill/Salvation Army and buy a pair of Levi's Dockers. The relaxed fit gives them lots of freedom of movement. |

Cragging or alpine? Cragging: Wrangler or Carhartt flexy / gussetted cotton pants. |

Def something better than standard jeans, looking for 1-2 pairs that’ll last me at least a year for the $100 total. I usually get the tractor supply $15 canvas special but I’m flush right now and I need my fix of some good gear |

I like the Prana Zions, but they won’t hold up to a lot of abuse on Offwidth and Slab climbs. Other than that, they are light, breathable, and very comfortable. |
|
summer cragging it's dickies or wrangler carpenters pants relaxed fit. also serve as my normal walk around pants. summer alpine whatever fancy shit is on sale. I ended up with Kuhl for about 70 bucks. too hot sometimes but my standard method is to hike in my boxers ( freaks out the tourists) and put the pants on when it gets high enough and cold enough.. |

Railriders Extreme Adventure pants. www.railriders.com |

Thrift store pants! You save money, and consume less this way! |

I am probably the only one but I love american eagle stretch jeans for climbing. If you don’t need pockets, they’re a great $25 pant |

10 dollar sweatpants |

Zion - lightweight, comfy, breathe well, sufficiently durable unless you climb only with your knees. |

Stretch zion straight are on sale on the prana website for like $44 right now in some last season colors |

Have a few pairs of stretch Zion in 32 x 30 in great shape. Colors charcoal and mud. |

Wrangler outdoor shorts and pants are durable and inexpensive. $21 at Walmart. Same material and similar design to Prana Zion, they are worth checking into. I own quite a few pairs myself. |

Also got a pair of the wranglers this week, and they are great. About 80% the quality of the pranas but at 33% of the cost. Plus the cargo pocket fits my phone unlike the pranas |
