Triple Deca Ultratriathlon
|
Anyone heard of or currently doing these ultra-triathlons? I found out about them for the first time. I had heard of the Ironman Triathlon then of course long distance runs like Leadville 100 and such. Also heard of the infamous Barkley Marathons. But this is nutto. |

At a certain length you aren't racing anymore, you're just surviving. These kinds of races are just a way for rich people and obsessives to brag. Who else has the time?! |

You would not even be racing at this point... It's just moving slowly for days on end. Kind of silly. But then I think people who sign up for 100 mile races to walk them are dumb. I sign up for races I can run the majority of. |

Doesn't sound that hard. |

I know a couple of people who've done deca or quintuple inornmans. I got into the barkley marathons once but never ran it. |

So just swim to Florida from the Bahamas, run/hike the southern half of the florida trail, then bike to san diego then seattle on back roads? All race pace, of course |

I have a few friends who participate in events like these. They are atypical people living atypical lives, to say the least. |

I was listening to a podcast, learned off the "Self-Transcendence 3100 Mile Race". I think that thing takes the prize where the weird races are concerned - all 3100 miles are done lapping 0.5m route in Queens, NY. |

If you commit, then quit, you have to kill yourself. |
