I had a system-I put my ring in the change pocket of my jeans while at the gym. But this has proven to be 99% effective and not 100% effective. And I need a 100% effective system: one session of crawling around on the floor of a gym per year is one too many.
So where are you all putting your wedding ring while climbing? Hopefully not on your finger....

Leave them on the dresser at home. My ring used to be shiny gold but now looks like brushed gold. I leave it at home now.

Home or car/locker if going straight from work.

Ditch the rings; get tattoos instead.

I keep my gym climb stuff in a backpack. My ring goes on the key tether in the lid of my backpack.

On a rawhide shoelace around my neck. I lost it too many times when I took it off. I use leather instead of accessory cord so I can't hang myself if it gets snagged. I use a single fisherman's knot so I can adjust it or take it off. Been married 37 years and this has worked pretty well.

I leave it at home if I’m going to the cliff or the gym.

Silicone, if you insist on wearing a ring. Neither my hubby nor I could get ours on anymore, by the time I began rock climbing at close to 58, and that's what I went to. $7.99 for six or seven of them, on Amazon, lol! Snazzy rings are nice for a wedding, but after that? Meh. What we did wear for many years, that was deeply meaningful to both of us, was matching necklaces. My design, made by a local silversmith. He wore his always, I did too, up until I started climbing. Then I kept it at home. Too precious to risk.
Oddly, his necklace was the one personal item that disappeared the night he died. I found it, eventually, carefully tucked away.....and my necklace was misplaced. Also found, and both rings too.
Edit to add: the silicone one came off in April, on what would have been our 26th anniversary. Over forty years living together. Best, Helen

This is where I clip my car keys, honestly much more important to not lose than the ring ever was. After all, without the car keys, the whole party may be seriously stuck backcountry. Best, Helen

Good point. But somehow it has worked for me. Keys usually go in the little zippered pocket on the waist belt where I can reach them to click open the car without skipping a beat. :)

I’ve been married 35 years, climbing for 38 and have lost 3 wedding rings. The current one stays in a drawer.

Put it on piece of perlon and wear it around your neck. In case of an emergency you can use the perlon to bail.

Silicone ones are different thicknesses. Go with the really cheap ones. They are thin and stretchy and go over big, swollen knuckles easily. Plus you can rock some really inane color choices as they seem to only be sold as sets. Be careful not to lose them in the meatloaf, if you mix up greasy stuff by hand in the kitchen. Just my two cents, though.
Best, Helen

Leave all rings and jewelry at home if going to the cliff, put it in my pocket or leave in my car if going to the gym. It's not a difficult question.
