Are you asking about tool leashes or tool tethers? Kind of a big difference...

Yeah, like Sunny D says; just what exactly are you looking for? Leash, tether; Grivel even makes a shoulder tether with a holster, so, please clarify. Tether wise, no one rates their tethers, except DMM. There are also industrial tool tethers out there that work pretty well. Since you're in Gardnerville; did you ever/ have you ever heard of anyone ice farming up hwy 88? Years ago, I found evidence, supposedly male nurses out of Carson.

Tethers (I should have been clearer.)
I have a home-made set, but I’m curious what others like.
Mario, I’ve not heard or seen any ice farming on 88 and I drive it all the time, even in winter. I make the drive to Lee Vining and June Lake to climb. About 90 minutes when the roads are dry.

I have some of every major brand and I like the Cassin the best.

Blue Ice boas. They weren't distributed in the US until recently, but you're starting to see them around. Super simple alpine leashes.

I like the Cassins.
The Cassin carabiners have a notch for the wire gate, I had issues with the BD Spinner carabiners coming off on some tools when they twisted the right way (specifically rigid attachments like the Quark spike).
I also like the Cassin for sizing, I'm tall and they make a longer one.

As per the Cassin tether I use the longer one my wife uses the shorter one. It is about arm length and reach with them. I really like the 3 way swivel at the bottom next to your harness it really does help keep the arms of the tether from getting tangled.

New BD Spinner Leash for sure. Nice thin locking biners. Have used Cassin, Grivel and old model BD Spinner.

I would avoid the Petzl tethers, the gate fell off one of the biners while I was climbing.

My wife is 5'9" and a total Bad Ass Ice climber its super fun going out with her. I don't think there is that much difference between the two honestly. If you can find somewhere that sells both I would go check them out and see if there is much of a difference.
