Best haul bag?

What’s the best brand and size for an over nighter?   Considering making my own. Anyone ever done that?

Metolius. It all depends on what your climbing, that will dictate what you need to bring! (Size of bag) And yes it has been done...if you've got the equipment or access to it's very doable.. 

The ~70l size is your overnight size. Best haubag is Runout Customs followed by Yates (expect to pay a premium)

I think the old tan Metolius bags are the best.  Too bad they don’t have access to that material anymore.  

Making a haul bag does not sound like fun!

I like my Metolius Bags.. 

I’ve got a Quarter Dome, which makes a great second bag for a big solo, and was perfect for 2day solos too. I’ve also got the El Cap size.. 
One note- for a 4-5 day wall with His+Hers Haulbags, the El Cap can feel giant- in that situation the Half Dome might be better... but- it is nice to be able to fit your entire half of the gear inside on the descent.. 
For a 2 climber one bag wall- the El Cap rocks! 

Dang, don’t build one (life is too short), just go buy any of the Metolius haul bags or haul packs.
