I went through with mine on a trip to Virginia they don't care. And my bag of coca... I mean chalk. I have the flash board it just slides into any back pack if you have 2 rachet straps you can go anywhere
TSA called their supervisor to look at my Flashboard in Santa Barbara. He was swinging it around like a bat to see how efficient of a weapon it might be. They ultimately let me take it on, but seemed pretty worried about it. I’d probably get a smaller hangboard that doesn’t look like a bat for traveling.
I’ve carried on full sized hangboards between SLC and LAX. Never questioned though I had the manufacturer’s website up on my phone just in case it needed explanation.
I find it strange that folks get grief from TSA when traveling with flashboards (the ”club” issue) when I see people carry on skateboards all the time.
I run the tensionboard "block" in my backpack wherever I go -- even international. Just keep in mind certain places internationally are weird about untreated wood, so I always make up some stuff about it being coated with a porous/thin treatment. That seems to do the trick.
Haven't had any issues. I used to travel about two weeks out of the month all over
The whole chalk in a carry-on thing still baffles me. Never been questioned, and no-one even thinks twice about it.
