Anyone spend much time in Arco?

I am thinking of taking 2 weeks off this in May to stay in Arco. My goals are to climb and improve my beginner Italian. I can’t find much beta on Arco via basic googling. DM me if you are willing to give me the low down on Arco ( where to stay, easy to find partners? Etc) to help me make my decision to go or not. Thanks

Hey,
I've been through there and am jealous you get to go!. Arco has a ton of really cool limestone! Salewa has a rock gym in Bolzano. A good place to meet some people. There are also climbing books in English available at climbing shops there.

bumping this to hopefully get recommendations on places to stay and crags to visit in and around Arco with concentrations of climbs in the 5.8-10b range.

I also saw a cragcloud video about deep water soloing in Lake Garda.  Does anyone know where this spot is?

Lots of climbing all around Arco, but expect to find some of the most slick limestone in the world too.

In Riva Del Garda, there’s a few camping spots that are quite nice to stay. I climbed at Belvedere in Arco and it was beautiful. The classic climbs are more stiff than usually because they are overclimbed and super polished - a 5.10d felt like a 5.11+ because I couldn’t get a decent grip.
if you’re there for a while, I recommend going up to the Dolomites too - there’s an amazing trad and decent sport.

thanks for the responses.  I didn't realize this was the partner's forum though.

Yes, going to Dolomites for a week.

Is the climbing around Lecco/Como good?

At the grades you are seeking I’d recommend Lago de Reina and Belvedere, perhaps also Nago. Falesio Policromuro (aka Mason) is amazing, but really gets decent at 6c (11b) and above as the lower grades are uninspiring and super polished. The Arco guide in English has over 8k routes in it, and all climbing shops, which are on almost every corner, carry it.
Camping Arco is a super convenient campground just outside of town and has all of the amenities, including a grocery, cafe, and a covered bouldering gym. Apartments are easy to find.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
