Anyone try an E-Z Out screw extractor for sleeves?
|
I am curious if anyone has tried an E-Z Out or similar screw extractor for pulling the sleeve from a 5 piece out? Something like this: https://www.mcmaster.com/2563a15 |

Or maybe something like this: https://www.mcmaster.com/8289a36. that advertises that it won't expand the pipe? My thought is that it might be a little more robust than a tap, and that you could use a normal drill to engage it, then pull it out by hand after it has broken free of the rock...? |

The EZ Outs are meant for unscrewing not pulling. The sleeves are not screwed into anything. |

I've tried ez outs on light interference fit dowels before (similar to a well rusted sleeve) and had terrible results. Can't see them working out. I'd like a faster method also, currently running a tap in is the most time consuming part of replacing sleeves for me. |

How does that central pin get out of the prong after you pull the sleeve out with it? |

It's a photo of an injector sleeve puller, I pulled off the web. |
