I’m looking for other’s thoughts on the best puffy for winter cragging. Looking for something warm, packable and with nice features (ex. Pockets inside to put shoes in to keep them warm.)

Best puffy for rock cragging is some 10-15y old 650 fill down jacket from eBay or the thrift shop for $20. They last forever and keep their loft well. The extra 8-10oz of weight is irrelevant. Having a fancy belay coat designed for winter/alpine climbing (Patagonia Fitz Roy or DAS parka) just isn’t needed. I used a 650 fill reversible (yes, jacket could be worn with either side out to choose your color fashion) Nautica brand to summit a 6000m peak.

I would say to stick with quality brands, but just buy something used.

Second for something cheap and bomber that you won't worry about ruining. Last year or maybe two years ago the Patagonia outlets were selling the hyperpuff parka for like $90 but aside from that, Fleabay is a good place to look. Also if your shoes smell anything like mine you're NUTS for thinking you're gonna put them inside a nice jacket to warm them up.

I walked Chapel Pond canyon to hang out with some friends wearing a Nike sweat suit and a Jordan puffy. EDIT: give the OP a break he's new. In time he'll be just as jaded and big of a dick as you. EDIT 2: The 1st edit isn't for you J! It was meant to be directed at the posts that weren't helpful. Meh my post wasn't helpful either... Hmmmm

Do you mean for ice climbing? If yes I personally prefer synthetic puffies as ice climbing is often wet even in very cold temperatures... Big Agness makes a really nice one if you have lanky build... Black Diamond Stance parka is often on sale... Arcteryx Dually is one of the more unique and expensive options :) - if you decide to get duallly order size smaller then your regular jackets as its huge....

Last years REI 650 down. Buy it for $50 bucks and you won’t worry when you destroy it. Or go to Poshmark and buy anything puffy that fits for pennies on the dollar.

A good belay jacket has a zipper that also opens from the bottom to accommodate a belay loop.
