Anyone have a recommendation for online purchasing of prescription sunglasses for skiing and climbing? My doc’s office has limited option and of course they are very expensive. Thanks!

totally happy with this company and their help in choosing the right frame, lens tint etc. Had several helpful phone conversations with them before making the purchase

and this model of prescription glacier glasses has been great for me

How much would they cost if you were to buy them straight from the optometrist?

An AAC membership gets you pro-deals from several very nice sports sunglasses companies.

I have used sportrx.com for a long time (15-20 years).

I think I used opticus.com 10 years ago for dark lenses suitable for glaciers.  These were nice glasses too.

I have used zinnioptical.com for clear everyday glasses.  Definitely much cheaper and ok quality.  I still use sportrx.com for cycling/climbing glasses.

A lot of your experience depends upon the frames you select in addition to the lense material and treatments.

If they're sport, then by definition they can't be RX.  ZING!

i paid 150 for RX Raybans that are polarized and have scratch resistant coating.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
