Possible A5 pulley injury?

Hi all, I think I may have ruptured the A5 pulley on my middle finger... but I’ve never heard of this happening before, only familiar with A2/3/4 injuries. Is this even a pulley injury? I can move my finger fine, there is no bowing of the tendon that I can see, it just hurts like hell and is swollen, black and blue just above the joint.  The bruising is what really worries me because I had an A2 injury a few years ago and this didn’t happen. Thoughts? Thanks!

The A5 is crucial tendon for crimping, go to the doctor to determine if it is a rupture or a tear, you won't know without proper medical evaluation. A rupture will most likely need surgery to reattach the tendon and a tare might just need rest and PT.
Also, a good hangboard routine is key to reduce pulley injuries.
Hope you heal quickly and comeback sending harder than before.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
