Climbing hats

I like dad hats, but they provide little protection in the event of a fall. Plus, I had one blow away in a gust of wind on After Slix. |
|
I like the kind that goes on your head |

I have a black diamond trucker hat. I'm sure they just contract it out to some random factory in southeast asia, but it fits incredibly well. I wear it when I run, climb, skate, bike, hike, walk around...Everywhere. It fits really well and rarely gets blown off my head. |

Any hat without a button on the top or a visor can be worn under a climbing helmet. |
|
I had to get a new hat this summer. Got one from these guys and it's sweet. Plus they do a hat recycling program. |
|
I wear this goofy looking cap for the extra sun protection. It fits well under a helmet and is highly adjustable with a buckle you can clip to harness. |
|
wear literally any baseball style hat of your preference under your helmet. |
|
If you're set on a ball cap and not a helmet, you could get a ERB bump cap insert that will give you some protection. I worked at a facility that would allow these apposed to hard hats. The only issue is they do not have a safety certification. |

Outdoor Research makes some righteous boony hats |

These hats are super rad. Extra points for being based on CA mountain ranges and seemingly never showing signs of wear. They're also produced by a local artist. |

Great guy - cool hats. |

I dont understand the question. What kind of protection in a fall are you looking for in a non helmet? Other than that get a hat you like and will wear. What is your favorite baseball team? BAM!!! problem solved. |
|
I’m actually more concerned about torpedoes over falls. |
|
The da brim is great. It turns your helmet into a hat. |

I forgo the hat and wear a sun-hoodie for my neck and ears and don a hat underneath my helmet. 5-panel hats work well since they don't have the button on top. |

Does anyone have experience using these? I’ve heard complaints about the pressure on your head. |
