Why not stick with what works for you. Is the gamma no longer made?

Also if you sweat a lot, maybe it means you don’t need insulated pants.

I wish they still made them, but no, the gamma line no longer has the Guide, but the MX seems pretty close ...

Not sure what size you are, but I own the Arc'teryx Psiphon AR Pants and they're fantastic for northeast winter climbing.  They do have a very light semi-fleece type lining. Not much on an insulator, but it's there I guess.  They're currently 26% off, too.

Arc'teryx also makes the Alpha Comp Pants, which are a hybrid winter climbing pants constructed with a combination of hardshell where you need more weather protection and soft-shell where you need more stretch & breathability.

Not even a little. I typically don't use insulated pants.

Just got the Rab Ascendor pants. This iteration is a year old and an upgrade from the Calibre pant which is my all time favorite pant. I have yet to use them but I know two climbers sponsored by Rab and they love them.

If they're not, just add a pair of long underwear to your kit.

I got army surplus fleece bibs for $14.99 paired with the $20 army surplus heavyweight long underwear, then I climb into a gifted pair of padagucci guide pants that are not insulated.  Pleanty warm.  Hope they fixed it but the guide pants that I have do not have a single zippered pocket. WTF are you supposed to do with money, pocket knife etc???   just a rather loose fitting Velcro flap that only has a small area of Velcro in the middle and pleanty of space on either side of the Velcro to lose shit...

Hi Nick, There have been several generations of the Patagonia guide pants (and several models: Rock Guide, Simple Guide, Alpine Guide, Backcountry Guide, etc). I have a set of Simple Guides and Alpine Guide pants both from around 2012 and all the pockets are zippered (two hip, one cargo).

If Marty is climbing that much, I would get the Gamma MX or AR pants again for durability (MX has light insulation), or something less expensive i.e. Rab as they do wear out with that much climbing.

Decided to go with the Sigma, my Gamma Guide still have a bit of life left in them so I will wear those on really cold days ! thanks for everyone for your inputs  !
Cheers
